Market Update
The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection (DBI) has implemented stricter water conservation requirements under Section 12A.10 of the SF Building Code. These changes may significantly impact residential transactions and create added costs for property owners.
Homes with 1.6 gallon per flush toilets may need to be upgraded to comply with the new requirements — especially those going through a sale or transfer.
The good news? The SF Public Utilities Commission is offering a rebate of up to $200 per qualifying toilet replacement.
We encourage all homeowners — especially those thinking of buying or selling — to speak with their inspector to ensure compliance before listing their property.
